I don't mind admitting, I'm slightly terrified at the idea of my boys in middle school. The older they get, the less similar to their peers they are, and the more that is expected of them. They are still such vulnerable little guys. They love Dora the Explorer, The Wiggles, and sugar cereal. They don't play video games because I've yet to find one they could understand, and would get as much satisfaction from as they get from You Tube videos. They don't go to the movies. They tried playing soccer, but couldn't stay at practices long enough to really get much out of it and learn anything. They like swimming but not like other kids swim. They will need help getting things open during lunch. They only drink from certain sippy cups. Geez, nothing like getting ready for a new school, where nobody knows their little idiosyncrasies, to highlight for us just how many little idiosyncrasies they have.
The middle school is so big, and they will be in several different classrooms for different subjects. Everything there was just so big, and far away from everything else. Yelp, I don't mind telling you, I'm fairly terrified.
