I love this idea. It's called Operation Beautiful. The mission is to end "fat talk" and negative thoughts and self-criticism that women tend to have when they look at themselves in the mirror. Then take a a picture of the note you posted and send it to operationbeautiful at gmail dot com. Isn't it just a wonderful thing?
I'm going to start carrying post-its in my purse so that I can put little positive-thinking inducing notes on public restroom mirrors. I might try to sneak into high schools and put them up there, because those are the girls who need it the most. Even if they wouldn't believe it (I certainly wouldn't have), if it makes them smile a little and for the briefest split second feel better about themselves, well, then it's a start.
Here's another one I found just this morning that I love. It's from a local blogger called Raising Cubs in a Campground and her idea is Alphabitty Moments. Here's the gist: Once a week, photograph "a little thing" that begins with each letter of the alphabet. Then save them all together in a book for your children. Here's an example:
Oh so fun activity for Aliza and me! You can make it as detailed or simple as you want. One option though is to write the significance of the letter/photo to you or your family, which I'd probably do just to liven it up.
Check out her blog to see more examples, it's such a cute idea!
