I feel a little silly posting about this. It's going to be short and sweet. Not the meatiest post I ever wrote. But I have to record this moment. Because a year from now, I'll be used to the boys talking to each other this way, and I'll forget. Forget this this is a big deal, and that they didn't always do this.
Both boys get to play on an iPad at home quite a bit - one is "theirs," and the other is "mine" that I share with them generously. Either that or they're both theirs, and they share one with me generously. I guess it depends on the day.
But like a lot of siblings, they fight over things. They may both have an iPad in front of them, but Zack periodically has to come over and see if maybe AJ's is "better" than his. Even though they are the same.
Like this morning. AJ was at the table watching Yo Gabba Gabba on the iPad, while Zack was in the living room obsessing over the Bubble Guppies on the other one. Zack suddenly decided to come see AJ's iPad, and Zack is bigger than AJ and a bit of a brute. When he wants something, he knows how to throw his weight around to get it. AJ was ready for him, though. It wasn't his first rodeo.
AJ turned his torso to block Zack when he saw him coming. Zack shoved hard, but AJ shoved back. Then he said "Way, Zack. Way."
AJ told Zack to go away. Never has he done that. Five minutes later I had the supreme joy to see them have this interaction again.
"Way, Zack."
A regular sibling moment! They do happen.....
