First of all, the boys had a bad night -- sleepwise. they were up several times between 9-ish and 2-ish, and at that point Mark woke me up and said it was my turn to take over -- he'd been up 3 times with them. So I got up and fed and changed one, then fed and changed the other, and then they settled down and were quiet, thank goodness. Then at 4:30 when the alarm went off, I decided I'd just snooze a few more minutes......then an hour and a half later I woke up and went, OOPS! I was supposed to be at work by now. So I got in late, but it was totally worth it, I feel 100% better than yesterday. I have been so exhausted for days, I just needed a little time to catch up.
The boys were so funny last night. AJ was throwing one of those gear toys up the stairs and climbing after it. He likes to throw things, usually his pacifier, and then crawl after it -- he plays fetch with himself. So last night he climbs up the stairs after that gear, and at the top, he throws the gear through the bars of the gate, and then reaches through to get it. Then he laughs and laughs, he's so pleased with himself. Then he threw it again, reached through the bars again to get it, laughs and laughs. Then he throws it further than he can reach. He tries and tries but he can't reach it, so he looks at me and screams. I had to open the gate to get it, it was a little further than I could reach too, and this infuriated him too, but he was just fine once I had retrieved his beloved gear toy. I got some cute pictures of him doing that.
Mark took them to feeding clinic today and said it didn't go that well. Because they got to sleep in a little, they didn't take their morning naps early enough, and their routine is off now so they were overtired and didn't eat well. I guess not all visits can be stellar. But we need to work with them more at home, I think. As they get bigger and more stubborn, changing their bad habits will just get harder and harder.
