This Year I Learned That:
Eventually, the noise a 5th grader makes with a trombone starts to sound like music. y Donating platelets at the American Red Cross is better than giving blood because you can do it more often, each donation saves the lives of three people, and your arms almost never go numb. y Even though you’ve barely looked at it in three months, if you've gotten a good start it is perfectly legit to tell everyone you are "writing a book.” y Putting a pool in your backyard is a great way to become the neighborhood hangout and creates great socialization opportunities for your autistic children. y If everything about a particular therapy routine is unpleasant and you doubt the real benefits, it is okay to quit. y If your child didn't start talking until he was 4, and you were so overjoyed you swore you'd never shush him ... You were lying. y Saying "cheese!" does not produce a nice, natural smile. It just shows a lot of teeth. y If your daughter seems athletically gifted and likes math, then that apple obviously fell far, far away from the tree. Either that or she takes after her dad. y If you plan a golf trip months in advance, it will be cold and windy that weekend. You will golf and have a great time anyway. y Yo Gabba Gabba doesn’t have nearly as much to teach us about life as Dora the Explorer and her cousin, Diego. y A little OCD is good for helping learn to get your shoes on the right feet.
